Far East Study Trip

- 2015. September 7., Monday 16:23

As the students of the University of West Hungary, we participated in a study trip in China and Japan between the 10th June and the 6th July. The idea came from Prof. Dr. Michael Palocz-Andresen (professor of NYME, since 2014 guest lecturer at Shanghai Jiao Tong University). The trip was supported by the Campus Hungary Programme.

During the four weeks, we had the opportunity to get acquainted with the higher educational systems of the two countries (Shanghai Jiao Tong University; The University of Tokyo), we visited dynamical growing transnational companies (IAV Shanghai; BYD Shenzen; Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency Tokyo, TDK-EPCOS Zhuhai) and checked the most modern environmental and climate protection technologies (New Energy Industry Shanghai; Shanghai Laogang Landfill).

Besides the professional programmes we could study the ancient cultures, traditions, and also the amazing natural resources which remain unforgettable memories. Despite the fact that, in geographical meaning there are a huge distance between Hungary and China or Japan, we received a warm welcome everywhere.

The special dishes, the eastern hospitality, the thundering distances, the huge crowd of people, the morality at work are unique experiences that helped widen our perspective and revaluated our personal world.

The trip can be called successful in every meaning - beside our own professional development we built valuable relations hopefully subserving the partnership between our country and the visited ones.
